When Jim Dodson decided to practice law, he knew he wanted to be a lawyer for the people, not for corporations or insurance companies. He envisioned his legal career as one of services to people in his community in need of help.

In the course of his legal career, Jim has had the opportunity to guide people who have been injured through the legal process, which can often be daunting. He came to realize that when a person has been injured or has lost a family member due to someone’s negligence, the very first thing that person needs is information—answers to the many questions that arise when misfortune has thrown one into the quagmire of the legal system.

Furthermore, Jim realized that the insurance companies are quick to appear when their insured is a party to someone’s injury. They try to reach the injured person before he or she has retained an attorney, hoping to obtain a statement that can be used to their advantage and to settle for a much lower amount than is reasonable, before an attorney is in the picture. Therefore, it is important to have all the information before agreeing to an interview with an insurance adjuster.

Jim decided that one way he could help the people in the community would be to provide that information in straightforward, easy-to-understand language, without resorting to “legalese.” He has written a series of consumer guides, which he makes available at absolutely no cost, to help the layman understand the steps involved in making a claim for damages.

Jim’s series of six legal guides for the consumer covers the following topics:

The Five Mistakes That Can Wreck Your Florida Accident Case
Dangerous Trips to Avoid in Your Fall Case
Buying Car Insurance
Survivors Guide to Florida Wrongful Death Claims
When Kids Suffer Big Injuries
Florida Pedestrian Accident Guide

Each book covers a specific area of the law pertaining to personal injury claims and tells the consumer what is needed to prove the case, what to say about the case to the insurance company, how to find the right lawyer for the particular type of case, what steps are involved in pursuing a claim, what statutes of limitations restrict the amount of time in which a claim can be filed, and much more essential information that applies to each individual type of case.

Jim hopes that reading these guides will keep people from making costly mistakes that might prevent them from receiving the compensation for damages that is the right of anyone who has been injured or lost a family member due to another’s negligence. He also coaches the reader on how to buy the kind of car insurance that will provide the protection needed in the case of a hit-and-run accident or other uninsured motorist claim.

Jim makes these books available to anyone who needs information as a public service at http://www.jwdodsonlaw.com/ .
